WITH the Olympic Games in Paris now just weeks away, young people from Prendergast Community School have enjoyed their own mini version of the summer sporting spectacular.

Young Ambassadors from Haverfordwest High VC School put the eager Year 3 pupils from Prendergast through their paces with various sport activities held on Thursday, June 20th.

In glorious sunshine, the sessions planned and run by the Young Ambassadors were overseen by Sport Pembrokeshire Gold Young Ambassador Carys Ribbon.

Participating pupils got to take part in athletics, archery, basketball, cricket, football and tennis in an action-packed morning full of smiles and endeavours.

Dan Bellis of Sport Pembrokeshire, said: “It was fantastic to see the Young Ambassadors from HHVCS planning and delivering such a wide variety of activities, and to see the Prendergast pupils so engaged and enjoying themselves. It was a really enjoyable and productive morning.”

Sarah Worgan, a teacher at Prendergast Community School, said: “A massive thank you to the Haverfordwest High Young Ambassadors for the wonderful sports sessions.

“Everything was so well organised, and the children thoroughly enjoyed! All staff were highly impressed with the Young Ambassadors and their brilliant enthusiasm and professionalism.”
