THE sailing season has arrived at Tenby Sailing Club, starting with a practice race on Saturday.
Sailing captain Ben Roberts sent this message before the race: “Lovely day for a practice race. Looking forward to blowing the cobwebs off.”
Race officer Alistair Lindsay later reported: “Sorry guys, but racing was abandoned this afternoon with multiple capsizes and dinghy breakages together with worsening conditions. It was time to head in”.
Ben Roberts commented that it was a great opportunity to check over the boats in these conditions and thanked the volunteers who made it possible. He managed a good couple of laps.
The team who completed a magnificent job on the changing rooms were thanked. The rooms were ready three days ahead of schedule, and just in time to receive members of the Pendine to Tenby Fun Run 2025.
The annual boat lift went ahead on Monday, so summer is getting closer.
Junior training registration is on 2 April from 6pm.
