Some of the junior section age groups were active at the weekend; the minis enjoyed exciting matches in Haverfordwest, with the coaches reporting many good team and individual performances.
The U11 and U13 squads both registered very creditable wins away in Haverfordwest after some very hard fought battles.
With no senior, women’s or Youth rugby scheduled for last weekend, the focus turned to fundraising with the Ladies Committee holding a Halloween Market at the clubhouse. The event attracted a large audience throughout the day and all of the stall holders, selling a wide range of items were very pleased with the turnout. Feedback from customers highlighted the marvellous hospitality on offer to all visitors. The Ladies Committee too were exceptionally pleased to see so many visitors, which rewarded all of their efforts and helped to raise valuable funds for the club.
The teams return to action in the coming weeks, with the First XV having Llanybydder away this Saturday, followed by Newcastle Emlyn Dragons at home, Llangwm away and PD Quins home in the Pembs KO Plate QF ON November 23. The Panthers play Tumble home this Sunday, then Newcastle Emlyn away, West Swansea Hawks away, with their next home game on November 30 against visitors Tondu. The Youth play Llangwm home in the Pembs Youth Cup on November 2, then combined Pontarddulais/Waunarlwydd away in the WRU National Shield on November 9.
In the coming weeks the floodlights in Pembroke Rugby Club’s Minis’ training area will be converted to LEDs, after securing generous grant funding from MHPA; this vital project is just one means of mitigating rising energy costs and the Directors and Management Committee are extremely grateful to MHPA for their support.
The club also received thank you cards from both the Angle RNLI station and the Fishermans Mission for their king donations totalling £355 after the recent St Davids home match.
The club is holding a fancy dress children’s Halloween Party tonight between 5-7pm.
In the weeks ahead, Wales will be taking on Fiji, Australia and South Africa in the Autumn Series and there are many other matches to watch, starting with England and Ireland facing the All Blacks over the next two weekends. Everyone is welcome to come to the club to watch these matches and enjoy the usual welcome and hospitality on offer.
