TENBY AFC booked their place in the next round of the Senior Cup with a resounding victory over Monkton Swifts at The Clicketts on Saturday.

Beaten 4-3 at Monkton in the league the previous week, the Seasiders had a point to prove and put on a near perfect display in the game that mattered.

They took the game by the scruff of its neck from the first whistle with Scott Ferney breaking the deadlock in the 13th minute.

Joe Leahy missed a penalty six minutes later but made amends for it when he doubled their tally in the 27th minute.

Fraser Finlay made it 3-0 moments later and the visitors’ chances of progressing took another hit when Ben Steel saw red for a second caution before the break.

Tenby took full advantage with Ferney and Finlay going on to complete their hat-tricks whilst Dylan Davies netted a couple of consolation goals for the Swifts.

Other cup results: Carmrose 5 Pendine 2; Haverfordwest CC 0 Hakin United 6; Merlins Bridge 2 Carew 4; Pennar Robins 6 Johnston 1.

Manderwood Pembrokeshire League Division One champions Goodwick United did their goal difference the world of good as they beat basement side Herbrandston 16-0.

The visitors scored eight goals in each half to move seven points clear of Hakin United at the top.

Chris O’Sullivan’s charges were clinical from the first whistle with Matthew Delaney opening their account after just two minutes and the hosts knew they were in for a tough afternoon.

Rhys Dalling went on to score four before the break with Scott Delaney, Jake Smith and Kieran Blundell also on the scoresheet in a pulsating opening 45 minutes.

In no mood to let up they continued to bomb forward in the second stanza and were rewarded with Dalling going on the notch his double hat-trick, Rhys Jones making an impact off the bench with a hat-trick, Sean Pemberton bagging a brace and Oliver Benbow also beating overworked Herbrandston keeper Rhys Power.

With Kilgetty’s scheduled match against Milford United postponed the only other Division One encounter saw St Ishmales beat visitors Clarbeston Road 2-0.

A goal in each half saw Tish to their third league win of the campaign helped by a Travis Jones own goal in the 18th minute.

There was little to choose between the two teams with the result in the balance until Brennan Devonald netted a second for the hosts in the closing stages.

The top three Division Two side were amongst the goals with leaders Fishguard Sports and Narberth both winning 6-0 on the road, at Lawrenny and Carew Reserves respectively, with third placed Neyland going one better with a 7-0 home win against Monkton Swifts Reserves.

Luke Thomas netted twice for Fishguard with Stephen Lewis, Ieuan Llewelyn, Greg Hughes and Haydn Hughes also finding the back of the net whilst Narbeth’s marksmen were Steffan Williams (2), Tony Evans (2), Christopher Brown and Morgan Preece.

Substitute Max Bowman-Daveis led the way for Neyland with support by Ben Gale, Dylan James, Alfie Crawford and Aidan Rees.
