TWO talented young cricketers have been named best batsman and bowler in the county youth awards.

Logan Hall has had an excellent season for Cricket Wales West Under 15s and his home club Carew and fully deserves the batting award this year.

This exciting batsman’s highlight was a 105 in 91 balls against Brecon and an average of 49 for the season.

He played his junior cricket for Kilgetty in the Pembroke County CC League and captained them to the final losing out to a strong Cresselly side.

In the Ormond Youth he scored 83 in the three group games and 63 in the final against a strong Hook side.

He played for Carew 3rds graduating into the 2nds with the highlights being 49 against Llanrhian and 48 against Lawrenny in Division 4 both not out. In Division 2 he consistently averaged mid 20s with the highlights a good knock against champions Burton and Pembroke Dock

In the Kenny Morris Cup he scored 29 against Pembroke, 25 against Neyland both not out again with the highlight of 43 in 52 balls against a very strong Narberth side in the semi final.

Tyler James had an excellent season for Cricket Wales West Under 15s and Cresselly and fully deserved the County Youth Bowling award.

Tyler has bowled well at the top of the order beating the bat on numerous occasions with a strike rate of 23 at an average of 19.6, best performance 2-9 for the region

Tyler led the Cresselly Under 15s with distinction captaining the side to the Welsh Cup semi finals at Blackwood where they narrowly lost out to St Fagans the eventual winners. They won the Pembroke County Cricket League final against Kilgetty at St Ishmaels.

On route to the WC final they beat Gorseinon, Llandysul, Bronwyd and Pontardulais and took numerous wickets on route and scored his fair share of runs.

In the Pembroke CCC final he took 2-24 and top scored with 23 on the night.

He played in the Ormond Youth and in the Alec Colley Cups.

He opened the bowling for Cresselly 2nds for the majority of the season and kept things tight which certainly helped the club to promotion from Division 3.

He ended up with 18 wickets for the season with some memorable performances of 5-9 against Narberth and 3-33 against St Ishmaels. No mean batsman either with a top score of 52 (3x6) against Stackpole.
