There was cause for celebration recently as the hard working catering service at Pembrokeshire County Council scooped a number of top prizes at the all Wales industry awards.
The fantastic work of the teams was highlighted with six places on the shortlist of the annual Local Authority Caterers Association (LACA) Wales Recognition of Excellence Awards.
At the finals at the end of October there was delight as three awards were brought home.
Area Supervisors Emma Williams and Sian Davies received a Shining Star Award for their commitment, professionalism and enthusiasm for the catering service and Tenby VC School won School Catering Team of the Year.
Sian and Emma had stiff competition with nine other strong nominees in this category.
To top it off, the whole catering team were recognised with the inaugural Welsh Government Food in Schools Award.
Pembrokeshire County Council was also shortlisted for an Innovation Award, a Community Impact Award, and Haverfordwest High’s team were included in the national line up.
Cabinet member for Education and the Welsh Language Cllr Guy Woodham congratulated everyone involved on this fantastic achievement.
“Across Pembrokeshire thousands of meals are provided for our children every school day, the team should be very proud of what they do and these awards recognise that.”
