Sunbathers in Saundersfoot, Tenby and on nearby beaches had a very up close and personal visit by a Chinook CH47 military helicopter on the hottest day of the year - as it headed over the harbour and shores of the seaside village!
On the afternoon of Wednesday, June 26, with plenty of people taking to the beaches and sea to soak up the sun - Saundersfoot Harbour commision shared a video on Facebook of the helicopter flying by the Marine Centre at the harbour at around 1.30pm, stating: “Sound is essential - it sounds awesome.”
Nearby beach-goers and those along the coast were also quick to share their own videos of the helicopter heading over the sands they were on, including Louise Jones at Coppet Hall; Julie Niblett at Wisemans Bridge; and Adrian Johns.
The Chinook also travelled above Tenby’s South, Castle and Northe beaches, with Charlie-Ann Love on St Catherine’s Island capturing the fly-over.
One person commenting, laughed: “I bet that woke a few people up!”
Head to ‘Saundersfoot Harbour’ on Facebook or www.saundersfootharbour.co.uk for further information about events and happenings at the harbour.
