Vandals continue to target public toilets in Whitland, town councillors have heard.
At Whitland Town Council’s most recent meeting, members were told that unfortunately the vandalism that is being carried out in the public toilets continues.
Each incident has been reported to the police and the situation monitored.
Councillors stated that they do not wish to take the decision to close the toilets again, but if the damage continues they will be closed and the re-opening re-considered.
The firm ACDC had met with Cllr Shipton to carry out works to the CCTV system located near the public toilets, and it was decided that a further camera is required.
It was agreed for the necessary works to be carried out under the Chair’s delegated powers.
On another note, the clerk was to write to the lady who open and closes the public toilets. It was proposed and seconded that a gift of £100 be given to her as a thanks for the commitment shown to the community.
