Tributes across the community continue to pour in for Chris ‘Mukka’ Boyle - who fellow cabbies have called ‘one of the best’ and the ‘kindest, funniest, most genuine, helpful’ taxi driver ever.
Fifty-seven-year-old Christopher Brian Boyle, from Park Avenue, Kilgetty, sadly died in a road traffic collision on the A4139 between Tenby and Penally at around 10.15 pm on Monday, September 2.
His family said: “Chris was a much-loved son, dad, brother, uncle and friend. Known as ‘Mucker’ to his friends, he was very involved in the community and would do anything to help anyone.”
Fellow taxi driver and former mayor of Tenby, Tony Brown shared on social media: “RIP to the best of us all ‘Mukka boy’ original and top dog, always there with a laugh or a bit of heavy if needed, will never forget you mate. Rest well - time to call it a night shift finished.”
Tenby Taxis’ Tim Lemon posted in tribute on Facebook: “As a taxi community we lost one of the best. The kindest, funniest, most genuine, helpful taxi driver ever.
“We are all heartbroken, saddened and in total disbelief at the loss of our colleague and dear friend.
“Chris was such a character and totally irreplaceable.
“He would help anybody for any reason at any time, he was such a gentleman, always smiling always happy and always very good to everyone he met.
“We love you, we will miss you.”
Crow Cabs posted on social media: "We are so saddened to hear of the passing of our good friend and fellow cabbie Chris - Mukka boy.
“Always smiling and supporting all locals in their businesses, nothing was ever too much for him.”
Other local people have been posting their tributes on social media, with one remarking: “Rest in peace Mukka boy - you truly were one of the best - a legend and such a lovely person and a true gentleman.”
Another posted: “Such a true gent and looked out for everyone. Always made sure I got home safe. Pembrokeshire won’t be the same!”
Police investigating the two vehicle road traffic collision have stated that a silver Volkswagen and a brown BMW were involved in the collision on the A4139, near the junction to School Lane.
Thirty-year-old Mateusz Sikorski, appeared at Llanelli Magistrates Court on Thursday (September 5), charged with causing death by dangerous driving, where he was remanded in custody to appear at Swansea Crown Court on Monday, October 7.
