Tributes are being paid on social media to a local taxi driver who sadly passed away at the scene of a road traffic collision last night (Monday, September 2) between Tenby and Penally.
Dyfed-Powys Police has confirmed that sadly one person died at the scene - named locally as taxi driver Chris Boyle from Kilgetty - affectionately known as ‘Mukka’.
“Sadly one person died at the scene. The family have been advised and are being supported by specialist officers,” said a police spokesperson.
One other person was taken to hospital with injuries not believed to be life threatening.
Police investigating the two vehicle road traffic collision which occurred at around 10.15pm, have stated that a silver Volkswagen and a brown BMW were involved in the collision on the A4139 between Tenby and Penally, near the junction to School Lane.
People have been posting their tributes on social media, with one remarking: “Rest in peace Mukka boy - you truly were one of the best - a legend and such a lovely person and a true gentleman.”
Another posted: “Such a true gent and looked out for everyone. Always made sure I got home safe. Pembrokeshire won’t be the same.”
Fellow taxi driver and former Mayor of Tenby, Tony Brown shared on social media: “RIP to the best of us all ‘Mukka boy’ original and top dog, always there with a laugh or a bit of heavy if needed, will never forget you mate. Rest well mate time to call it a night shift finished.”
