More than one Father Christmas will be parading around Narberth town centre this weekend, as the fundraising Santa Run returns.
The charity event organised by Narberth and Whitland Rotary will take place on Sunday, December 10, at 12 noon, to raise funds for the Pembrokeshire Foodbank based in Narberth.
Last year it was Whitland’s turn but the bi-annual event is back in Narberth this year.
Back in 2019, over 120 Santas took to the streets of Narberth, running or strolling in their red costumes which was a great Christmas treat for children and adults alike.
Judging by the current level of online entries, that number may be exceeded this year.
This year the event has very kindly been sponsored by several organisations.
Narberth & Whitland Round Table will donate their Sleigh for the morning start at Narberth RFC; local stores Cost Cutter, Blakemore’s Spar and CK’s Supermarket have donated tins of sweets for the children to have at the end of the run.
President of Rotary, Phil Thompson MBE said: “We are extremely grateful to all of these sponsors and also to Castell Howell who have donated mince pies and mulled wine for adults who complete the 3km course through the streets and parks.”
Banners advertising the event displayed around town (on which a QR code is displayed to access the website) were generously sponsored by D P Building Supplies Ltd and Revelation Clothing.
Once the entry form has been completed participants are registered and they can pick up their Santa Suits on the morning of the event at the Rugby Club from 10.30 am.
Rules and online entries can be obtained on the website www.nwrotary.org
