The incident occurred on April 15, 2023, on a busy Saturday evening at the seaside pub near Saundersfoot, with the defendant becoming aggressive and verbally abusive towards staff that worked at the premises, the court heard.

Magistrates were told by the prosecution that initially, the victim tried to ignore the situation, but as Turner grew more aggressive, he approached him, asking if there was a problem?

Turner wearing a baseball cap, then fronted up to the victim, shouting ‘Do you f****** work here? Because you’re not f****** working now, are you?’ before he headbutted him on the side of his face.

Soon after the incident occurred, Wisemans Bridge Inn shared footage of the assault on Facebook, putting out an appeal in a bid to track down the assailant, which was shared on social media by thousands.

In a victim impact statement shared to the court, the pub worker said: “The incident has affected me more than I expected. I was scared to walk home alone after a late shift, and even during daylight, I find myself looking over my shoulder, worrying.

“I’m also nervous when I see tall men wearing caps walk into the pub, in case it’s the same one again. I hate feeling like this.”

At the hearing, Turner pleaded guilty to assault causing actual bodily harm; and received a 24-week sentence to run alongside his current prison term.

He was ordered to pay a £154 victim surcharge; and £85 in court costs.

The reason Turner was already serving time was down to the fact that he was sentenced last June at Newport Crown Court to a total of 18 years for multiple offences, including: Coercive and controlling behaviour; criminal damage; perverting the course of justice; two counts of ABH; and two counts of rape.
