A PEMBROKE man has been jailed following his failure to comply with a community order made after assaulting two emergency workers.

Shane Patrick Thomas, of Tenby Court, Monkton, appearing before Haverfordwest Magistrates’ Court on January 28, admitted failing ‘without reasonable excuse’ to attend two planned office appointments in November 2024.

The appointments were required as part of a community order made at Carmarthenshire Magistrates’ Court on May 31, 2024 after Thomas was convicted of assaulting two police constables by beating them, on Fishguard High Street two days earlier.

Thomas was then dealt with for the original offences. He was committed to prison for 24 weeks concurrent for each assault, uplifted from 16 weeks because the offences were committed against emergency workers.
