Anti-social behaviour occurring at Tenby’s multi-storey car park over half term week has seen police introduce a ‘Dispersal Zone’ around the area, to tackle and ban those commiting offences.

A spokesperson for Tenby Neighbourhood Policing Team said on Thursday (Februray 27): “Over the past 72 hours, there have been a number of reports of anti-social behaviour within Tenby multi-storey car park and surrounding areas.

“This has been tackled robustly by Tenby NPPT. There is currently a Section 34 Dispersal Zone within the area, giving officers and PCSOs the power to disperse those suspected of committing ASB, banning them from the area for a period of up to 48 hours.

“Parents, please be aware of where your children are and what they are up to,” they added.

The multi-storey seems to be a magnet for anti-social behaviour down the years. In response to these latest concerns, one local resident posted on social media: “About time they sorted the problem out. It's not just half term either.

“I live in Tenby and have to park in the multi storey. I have a disability and need to use the lift (when it's working!)

“At times I've seen 4 or 5 girls just sitting in the lift, going up and down. Other times there have been loads of teenagers on the top floor, holding the lift doors open so that people can't use the lift. I don't know if there are cameras in the car park.”
