Tenby in Bloom’s 2024 entrants have been praised for pulling out all the stops once again!

Businesses, shops, restaurants, schools, hotels, households and schools once again joined in with the contest to show off their floral flare and displays, whilst at the same time making Tenby more colourful for the summer season. 

In Bloom chair Sue Lane and fellow committee member Tish Rossiter were this year joined by judges David Lewis, Roger Davies and Ellie Griffin as they enjoyed sparkling seaside sunshine for their walkabout on Wednesday, July 17.

“We were absolutely thrilled at the number of entries this year,” said Sue.

“The standard and quality of the gardens and business displays is phenomenal and something which was shown in the very high scores awarded by this year’s judges.

“It was exceptionally nice to have two schools enter this year, and the children involved have worked so hard to make their gardens so delightful.”

PRIVATE HOUSES: Best garden visible from the road - Donna Miles, Lady Park (Gold)

Best Patio/Forecourt hard standing - Michael Brace Lower Park Road (Gold); Cheryl Burrows, Heywood Court (Gold); David Lewis, Haytor Gardens (Silver Gilt).

Best display with window boxes/hanging baskets - Mr & Mrs Swarbrooke, Upperhill Park (Gold); Betty Button, Augustus Place (Gold); Wall Cottage, St Mary’s Street (Gold); Ivy Cottage, Cob Lane (Silver Gilt).

Best overall display with frontage only - Giltar Hotel (Gold).

Best display for Guest/Hotels with 10 bedrooms or less - The Normandie (Gold); Augustus Guest House (Gold).

Best Street - The Esplanade.

The Serendipity Holdings Rose Bowl awarded to the overall winner with the highest points went to Michael Brace of Lower Park Road

The awards will be presented on Wednesday, September 25 at 11am in the Mayor’s Parlour, De Valence Pavilion.
