The inquest into the death of local taxi driver Chris ‘Mukka’ Boyle has opened.

Fifty-seven-year-old Mr Boyle (affectionately known as Mukka) of Park Avenue, Kilgetty died at the scene of in a road traffic collision that occurred on the A4139 between Tenby and Penally on Monday (September 2).

Thirty-year-old Mateusz Sikorski, was charged with causing death by dangerous driving when he appeared at Llanelli Magistrates Court on Thursday, September 5, where he was remanded in custody to appear at Swansea Crown Court on Monday, October 7.

At an inquest into the death of the fifty-seven-year-old dad at Haverfordwest County Hall this morning (Friday, September 20) the coroner’s officer for Dyfed-Powys Police, told the acting senior coroner for Pembrokeshire at the hearing, that a post mortem had confirmed that Mr Boyle’s cause of death was ‘multiple traumatic injuries’ due to a road traffic collision.

With an investigation by Dyfed-Powys Police and criminal proceedings ongoing, the inquest into Mr Boyle’s death was adjourned to a later date.

Tributes across the community have poured in for ‘Mukka’ - who fellow cabbies have called ‘one of the best’ and the ‘kindest, funniest, most genuine, helpful’ taxi driver ever.

‘Mukka’ was a much-loved son to Brian, dad to Daniel, Chloe, Leah, Jimmy and Tommy J, brother to Liz, David and Lisa, uncle and friend.

His family said: “Chris was a much-loved son, dad, brother, uncle and friend. Known as ‘Mukka’ to his friends, he was very involved in the community and would do anything to help anyone.”

A GoFund me page (at: https://gofund.me/0f094eeb) has already raised over £15,000 for the much loved taxi driver, for funeral costs and to go towards raising money for his children’s futures.

W & M J Rossiter & Sons Ltd have also shared details of the funeral service, which will take place on Friday, September 27 at St. Mary's Church, Tenby at 10am followed by committal at Parc Gwyn Crematorium, Narberth at 12.15pm.

The funeral cortege will be passing through Kilgetty at approximately 11.45am, for anyone wishing to pay their respects to Chris.
