The 2024 fixture card is almost complete, for both Dinghies and Cruisers - with Tenby Sailing Club’s Regatta to be held on Saturday, July 6, with the Annual Round Caldey Race on Sunday, July 7.
Sailing Captain Dan Jackson is introducing an extra series purely for the National Redwing Class, which will add colour to the North Bay as many will remember from times past.
This year the Merlin Rocket Class will be sailing its National Championship here from August 11 to 16.
The expected entry of seventy boats is already filling up, and accommodation is being sought by many crews.
Dinghy Racing: Neyland Yacht Club began its 2024 Open Dinghy Frostbite Series on Sunday, January 7, continuing until March 10 with two races every Sunday, starting at 11 am. More details from Gavin on 07786861514.
Clubhouse: Last Saturday saw the first of this year’s monthly quizzes hosted by ex-Commodore Terry Evans.
Team Tuscanny was victorious, finishing ahead of the other ten teams. The next quiz will take place on Saturday, February 3 at 8 pm.
Junior Training: Begins again when the warmer weather arrives. A meeting for all those involved in running the course has been arranged for Wednesday, January 17, at 6.30pm.
Safety Boats: Ed Dashfield has continued to implement a comprehensive maintenance programme for the five Rigid Inflatable safety boats and the TSC Committee Boat, to ensure that they conform to the RYA instructions.
Members are reminded that Subscriptions for 2024 are now due.
Fees for each category will be increased by £5 from February 1.
