SAUNDERSFOOT’S Sam Saunders is looking forward to defending his E1 World Championship title, the world’s first all-electric raceboat series.
Sam is part of Team Brady (owned by legendary NFL quarterback Tom Brady) who won the inaugural championship last year following races across five iconic global cities around the world, including Venice and Monaco.
Team Brady won the championship after overcoming strong competition from eight other teams.
As a result, Sam and co-pilot Emma Kimiläinen accepted multi-year extensions for Season Two and beyond.
Sam said: “I’m excited to kick off Season Two with Team Brady after an incredible first season together.
“Competing alongside Emma again is something I’m really looking forward to—she’s an amazing teammate, and we’ve learned so much from each other.
“We know staying on top will take hard work, but we’re a competitive team, and we’re ready for the challenge.
“I’m fired up to build on our success from Season One and take on new, exciting locations around the world!”
The 2025 UIM E1 World Championship kicks off on Friday in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.
Team Brady announce new partnership
Team Brady has appointed Cambridge Mobile Telematics (CMT), the world’s largest telematics service provider, as the Official Telematics Partner for Season 2 of the UIM E1 World Championship, the world’s first all-electric race boat series.
This exciting collaboration marks the beginning of a new season, with Team Brady entering as reigning champions after a historic inaugural season victory.
The partnership unites two organisations driven by their shared commitment to harness the power of data and driving insights.
CMT brings over a decade of expertise in measuring and reducing mobility risk for the world’s largest auto insurers, automakers, and commercial mobility companies.
Team Brady uses data-driven strategies to push the boundaries of performance and refine racing excellence.
Whilst their expertise differ, their shared goal of accelerating the future of mobility through data-driven innovation will be the focus for the season.
Throughout the partnership, Team Brady will utilise CMT’s AI mobility platform, DriveWell Fusion®, both on and off the water. Team Brady will be able to use CMT’s DriveWell®mobile app, which leverages sensor data and machine learning to identify drivingbehaviors, to measure pilot performance metrics.
This initiative presents exciting opportunities to integrate insights into pilot analytics, strengthening the connection between innovation and the fan experience.
Ben King and Joe Sturdy, Co-Team Principals at Team Brady, said, “We’re pleased to welcome Cambridge Mobile Telematics as our Official Telematics Partner. E1 as a series aims to redefine the future of electric racing and drive technological innovation – goals this partnership will help us achieve.
“Together, we’ll use cutting-edge technology to inspire change, pushing the boundaries of sustainable mobility, enhancing driving safety, and shaping the future of how we move and ‘drive well’.”
William Powers, Founder & CEO of CMT, said: “We’re thrilled to continue our partnership with Tom Brady as the Official Telematics Partner of Team Brady. Team Brady’s history of excellence and drive to win aligns perfectly with our vision to make mobility safer and smarter around the world.
“This partnership presents an exciting opportunity to expand our expertise in capturing and analyzing mobility data across motor vehicles and beyond — pioneering insights that will shape the future of road safety, infrastructure, and transportation for generations to come.”
