For Dinghy Racing, Tuesday July 16, this 1.5m leatherback turtle towed one of Tenby Sailing Club’s racing marks out to sea complete with anchor and chain.

Dewi and Peter separated the turtle and buoy without damage to either, and the incident was reported to the turtle watch at Marine Environmental Monitoring.

It was a calm but lovely evening on the water on Thursday, July 18 for race 4 of the Redwing Challenge Series. Two laps of a port triangle in a WSW in about an hour. A poor forecast resulted in the cancellation of the dinghy race on Saturday July 20.

On Sunday, July 21, Churches Together in Tenby hosted the Sea Sunday Service to recognise the importance of our seafarer communities and the RNLI, who also held its coffee and cake fundraiser outside the clubhouse. Lewis James attended the service on behalf of Tenby Sailing Club, reading a scripture from the book of Matthew.
