Kilgetty AFC Women’s Team switched their training tops for Christmas Jumpers this month, kicking off their festive training session on Friday, December 8 in a bid to raise funds for Save The Children’s ‘Christmas Jumper Day’ campaign.
The day is an official part of UK Charity Week’s daily themes. Christmas Jumper Day is Save the Children’s annual event that raises money for the children who need it most.
‘Every December, millions of people across the United Kingdom (and beyond!) put on a festive knit at their workplace, school or with friends and make a donation to help give children the magical future they deserve’ - Save The Children.
Christmas Jumper Day has raised over £35 million for children in the UK and around the world!
‘We exist for children. To make their world a better place. To help them learn, grow and become who they want to be. No matter where they’re growing up, we find a way to reach the children who need us most.’
Supporting Save The Children means helping children live their best lives:
Kilgetty AFC Women’s Captain Maisie Sherratt who organised the event, said: “Lovely to know that the girls are all willing to show some support! Definitely a hot one in our jumpers, but 100% worth it!”
Each player made a donation and £40 was raised for Save The Children.
