In a battling performance, Kilgetty AFC Women faced defeat on the road, after a tireless effort from the whole team on the weekend.
Facing Goodwick United Women, Kilgetty AFC Women worked hard until the final whistle, and fell just short of the mark, losing to two Goodwick goals deep into the second half.
A good save from Marie Lightwood, in goal for Kilgetty, after a Hannah Davies shot, fell back to the feet of the attacker, who coolly slotted into the back of an open net to make it 1-0.
Shortly after, a clearance from the Kilgetty defence saw the ball fall to the edge of the box, before it was thundered home from 20 yards into the top right corner by defender Natalie Walsh.
Kilgetty continued to press, but Goodwick pressed back and took the 3 points.
“There was a lot of positives to take out of the match as we move on to play Camrose in 2 weeks,” said Kilgetty AFC Women’s Coach. James North.
“The work rate and effort was fantastic today. Each and every player played with everything they had. Thanks everyone, two very happy coaches.”
