KILGETTY’S Liam Cullen scored his third goal in a week on Sunday but there were no celebrations this time.
Fresh from scoring two goals for Wales in their 4-1 defeat of Iceland which secured promotion in the Nations League, the 25-year-old forward restored Swansea City’s lead against Leeds United on the stroke of half time in their Championship clash at the Liberty Stadium.
But the visitors stole it at the death courtesy of a stoppage time winner by Wilfried Gnonto to make it 4-3 to the Whites.
Cullen, aka ‘The Kilgetty Messi’, had been rewarded for his first senior Wales goals in the Nations League triumph over Iceland earlier in the week by regaining his place in Swansea's goal-shy attack.
It was the Swans’ first game under the new ownership structure after American Andy Coleman and fellow shareholders Brett Cravatt and Nigel Morris and businessman Jason Cohen bought out the majority shareholding of Jason Levein and Steve Kaplan.
The home side took the lead just eight minutes into the new tenure, centre back Harry Darling with a cushioned volley past Leeds keeper Illan Meslier.
Manor Solomon equalised on 20 minutes before Cullen restored Swansea’s advantage in stoppage time with an edge-of-the area effort which took a slight deflection off Jayden Bogel into the corner of the net.
The game was turned on its head when Leeds surged ahead for the first time courtesy of a Ben Cabango own goal and a second by Solomon on 73 minutes.
The Swans showed character and spirit to get back into it again when Josh Tymon’s inviting left-wing cross was steered home by French striker Florian Bianchini on 90 minutes.
But Gnonto had the final say moments later to send Leeds to the top of the table on goal difference and condemn Swansea to their second successive injury-time defeat.
