HAVERFORDWEST County’s Luke Tabone has been shortlisted for the JD Cymru Premier player of the month award for February.

The Bluebirds enjoyed an undefeated month and conceded just one goal across those three games, with Tabone playing an important role in that return.

The side head into March just three points behind second place Penybont, a team they held to a 0-0 draw at the start of February.

Also shortlisted are Danny Davies (The New Saints) and Ben Nash (Connah’s Quay Nomads).

29-year old Davies played every minute of every league game for The Saints during the month, and also scored two goals in those four fixtures as he found the back of the net in the 3-1 win over Cardiff Met and the convincing 4-0 victory over Penybont.

Nash was another ever-present player for his club in February. He has been a key player for the Nomads this season as the side claimed six points from a possible nine during the last month with clean sheet victories over Newtown and Barry Town United.

Richard Davies (Caernarfon Town), Lee Fowler (Flint Town United) and Craig Harrison (The New Saints) are up for the manager of the month award.

February was headlined for Caernarfon with a 3-2 victory over Penybont as Davies’ side bounced back from a narrow 1-0 defeat to league leaders The New Saints. The month began with a credible 1-1 draw against Haverfordwest County.

Victories over Briton Ferry Llansawel and Aberystwyth Town have eased relegation fears for Fowler and his squad after the month started with a defeat to Barry Town United.

It was a perfect February for the champions as The New Saints claimed maximum points with victories over Cardiff Met, Penybont, Caernarfon Town and Bala Town to extend their lead at the top of the table.
