Dan Jackson reports:
Well Coppet Race 1 turned into a proper thrash off!
Starting in a SW 2-3 all very gentlemanly with us as leading Osprey at the first windward mark, only to be quickly passed by Gareth Caldwell with the kites up.
On the second reach we briefly regained the lead after a gentle bit of luffing but lost it again with Dave/Maurice and the Chessnuts closing up all the time.
On the second beat Carpé Diem played a blinder up the left with some great shifts to take the lead at the next windward mark, we rounded second in a rapidly increasing breeze and both boats opened up a large lead on a full on flat wire blasting reach to the gybe mark where we had a synchronised swim alongside Steve Leach in the 600, leaving Dave and Maurice to loosely cover Gareth Caldwell and Oscar Chess to the Finish.
All great fun!
