FOLLOWING 22 weeks of matches East Williamston Short Mat Bowls Club emerged victorious as winners of the South Pembs Friendly League 23/24.
Competition was fierce amongst the 12 teams, who compete in the league, but East Williamston finished the season nearly 30 points clear of runner up club, The Badgers.
Club captain Theresa Painting said “Everyone has worked so hard for this. We practiced twice a week throughout last summer to improve our game and this season it has really shown.
“We have four new members who have joined the club and already they have improved so much.”
As league winners East Williamston will play in the Chairman’s Challenge Trophy on 27 April, where they will face a team made up from each of the other clubs in the league.
