Network Rail are currently carrying out work on Whitland Station the footbridge, which includes taking it away for repair and repainting, meaning the footbridge will be out of action until October 12.
“This essential work is part of our commitment to maintain a safe and reliable railway,” said a spokesperson for Network Rail.
The work will involve the removal of the existing footbridge to allow critical repairs to be undertaken; and strengthen the structure.
Existing rivets will be replaced with temporary bolts to allow the bridge to be removed in sections. This process will allow the bridge to be lifted out with a mobile crane.
There are no road closures planned for the work to further reduce any disruption to the local community.
