Tenby’s town crier will be getting his skates on next year as he’s backed himself to complete a half marathon to raise funds for the town’s Skate Park.

Jim Cornwell plans to run the Reading half marathon in March with two skate boards on his back!

“I have already run it before, but it won’t be easy, and at 73 years of age - a tough task!” he admitted.

However, he is up for the challenge and hopes to raise a considerable amount of money for the Tenby Skate Park fund.

“As I am on the committee, I?feel I?should do something special,” he added.

Local youngsters have been seeking fundraising ideas to try and raise some of the £150,000 costs for a project to redesign and extend the Skate Park.

The Tenby Jubilee Play and Skate Park Association, will be holding a ‘table top sale’ at the De Valence on Saturday, October 20, between 10 am and 4 pm, to help raise funds.
