Possibly the last local use of a maypole was when Primary school children from Templeton Community Primary School, Narberth, Pembrokeshire, kicked off their Platinum Jubilee celebrations with a colourful parade through the village, waving flags and singing, whilst dressed in their decorated gold crowns and iconic red buses. The children danced a maypole on the village green with red, blue and white ribbons for the onlooking residents. (Joann Randles)
