A Pembrokeshire charity has received a boost from Tenby Freemasons in memory of a well known local.
At the recent ‘installation meeting’ of Tenby Lodge around 80 Freemasons from all over West Wales attended.
Following the meeting, a dinner was held at the Giltar Hotel, along with the traditional fund-raising raffle, and with such a large gathering present, the raffle raised a bumper £450.
As it is the tradition at Tenby Lodge for the incoming Master to nominate a charity to receive the benefit of the raffle proceeds, the Master David Marshall had no hesitation in nominating the Paul Sartori Foundation as the recipient of the £450 in memory of local Jason Taylor, who tragically suffered heart failure and passed away just before Christmas.
Jason was only 50 years old and was a well known and popular figure locally. He leaves two teenaged children. He had been a member of the lodge some years ago until working away prevented his attendance.
His father Joe is a highly valued and much loved member of the Lodge in Tenby.
Before Jason’s funeral, Joe and his dear wife Jenny decided that in lieu of floral tributes, donations could be made to the Paul Sartori Foundation, the excellent Pembrokeshire charity that provides free hands-on care and clinical services to patients with life limiting illness in their own homes.
Tenby Lodge charity steward Steve Thurgood remarked: “Tenby Lodge has long been a supporter of the Paul Sartori Foundation and we are only too pleased to make this donation as a tribute to Jason and to show our love and respect for Joe and Jenny.”
Paul Sartori Hospice at Home provides a range of services to Pembrokeshire people living in the final stages of a life-limiting illness, including home nursing care, equipment loan, complementary therapy, bereavement and counselling support, physiotherapy, advance care planning and training.
All of the services provided are free of charge and are available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, thanks to the generosity of the Pembrokeshire community.
