An SOS has been put out to save Kilgetty and Begelly Community Centre from closure.
Cllr Jerry Long said that the Community Centre may have to close if the more volunteers can’t be found for the Community Association to help manage the centre and gardens.
“Kilgetty Begelly Community Centre is in danger of closing due to lack of volunteers for the Community Association who help manage and maintain the community centre and gardens,” he explained.
“In the last few months, we have lost 6 volunteers and if we don't get more help the community may have to close.”
The volunteers meet on Thursday mornings between 9am and 12 noon.
The Community Association also help organise community events such as - the Village Fete and Christmas family event, although the last festive event had to be cancelled due to a lack of help.
“We have a monthly meeting in the Community Centre on the last Monday of the month, at 7 pm,” continued Cllr Long.
“The meeting is open to all residents of Kilgetty and Begelly. This includes anyone over 16 years of age, and we would love to know what the youth of the villages want from their Community Centre.
“So please come along and have your say on what happens in your community.”
The next meeting is on Monday, January 27 at 7pm.
