Llanybydder 17 pts. Tenby United 31
Coastal Cottages sponsored Tenby United maintained their push for promotion from National League Division Four West on Saturday with a hard-earned win at Llanybydder.
It was the United's 16th straight win of the season and keeps them 11 points clear at the top of the table ahead of their nearest rivals Amman United, who have two games in hand on the Seasiders.
And with the two rivals due to meet at Heywood Lane in a couple of weeks time, it could well prove to be a dramatic championship decider.
Both still have some tough games in the run in, though, as evidenced by Saturday's match at Llanybydder, where the United had to come from behind to earn the spoils.
In fact, at half-time they were trailing by 17 points to 14 as the home side crossed for three tries through secon row Gavin Boke, Gareth Jones and Gethin Hunter, one of which was converted by ooutside-half Tomos Wilson
In reply, the United bagged a brace of tries courtesy of wing forward Jason Ronowitz and second row Johnny Lane, with the boot of Tom 'Turbo' Lewis adding the extras to both.
After the break, though, the league leaders began to show their class and overhauled their opponents with two further tries by flanker Luke Deadman and captain Nicky Guymer, who crashed over in the last minute to earn his side a vital four-try bonus point.
Both touchdowns were agin converted by fly-half Lewis, who also banged over a drop goal to complete Tenby's scoring, while Llanybydder failed to add to their total against a resolute visiting defence.
The United were due to play Milford last Wednesday evening and entertain Hendy at Heywood Lane tomorrow (Saturday), hoping to continue their march towards the title.
Tenby fielded: Dai Meyrick; Simon Stanford (Jack Guerreiro), Jimmy Davies; Arthur M-M; Samuela Cataki, Tom Lewis, Richard Rossiter; Lewis Davies, Nicky Guymer (capt.), Johnny Palmer (Rob Clarke), Wyndham Williams Johnny Lane (Gareth Nock), Ilaisa Torau, Jason Ronowitz, Luke Dedman (Terry John).
