In a recent update to Saundersfoot Community Council members, the county councillor for the ward, commended the spirit of volunteers in the seaside village.
In his report to members, Clr. Phil Baker mentioned the recent Valero beach clean as well as the local ‘Valentines’ clean up on the sands, commenting that the amount of volunteer effort in Saundersfoot was ‘commendable’.
Following a message from Clr. Wainwright, Clr. Baker reported that he had organised a repair to the weldmesh catch fence on The Strand and the clearance of some of the rock debris behind it.
The white lining in the first tunnel at the end of The Strand around the gulley locations would be carried out by a specialist contractor along with other white lining in the area, he stated.
In other matters for the village, he said that Pembrokeshire County Council area maintenance staff were monitoring the pavements as there was a ‘marked increase’ in dog mess incidents.
He said that the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park Authority were currently undertaking maintenance works to the bridge parapets into the Brewery Field (Regency Hall) car park; and that the new electric vehicle charging points were due to be commissioned by the end of February.
Unfortunately the two original charging points have had to be removed as part of the upgraded provision, and at the moment, the nearest charging points were located in Amroth and at Tenby’s multi-storey car park.
Clr. Baker added that he had requested PCC’s streetcare team to continue chasing Welsh Water to ensure a satisfactory reinstatement of the footway on Milford Street.
