Recently, the Rotary Club of Pembroke hosted a lunch at the Cleddau Bridge Hotel, organised by Assistant District Governor Ted Whatley, to present cheques for the Hearing Dogs for the Deaf to Marilyn Sydenham, the regional representative, who gave a talk on the aims and work of the charity.

She was accompanied by Mrs. Brenda Lewis one of the recipients of a hearing dog for the last seven years called Sedge. Brenda explained how having Sedge has transformed her outlook giving her the confidence to lead a normal and active life. Donations were made by the Rotary Clubs of Aberaeron, Haverfordwest, Milford Haven, Narberth and Whitland, Pembroke and Saundersfoot, totalling £1,950.
