Work continues to upgrade Kilgetty’s Co-op store and car park, with community councillors recently backing plans to introduce Electric Vehicle charging points at the site.

A their most recent meeting, members of Kilgetty and Begelly Community Council supported a planning application (reference 24/0466/PA) submitted to Pembrokeshire County Council by Co Operative Retail Services Ltd, for the installation of two rapid EV charging stations and ancillary equipment at the store’s site on Carmarthen Road.

Following consideration of all the information provided by the Planning Authority, members of the Community Council agreed to support the application.

The store closed partially for a refit at the end of August, with a ‘temporary store’ now in place. The full reopening is due to take place on October 28.

The store’s car park allows a maximum stay of 90 minutes for customers only; and anyone overstaying that length of time, if caught, could incur a £70 parking charge notice.
