Tenby councillors have recommended approval for a new shop’s signage in the town centre.
The planning application (NP/23/0216/ADV) for new shop signage, at 2 Gower House, Tudor Square, came before members of the Town Council at its meeting last week.
Jewellery specialists The Silver Lily which already has stores in nearby Saundersfoot and Haverfordwest, announced last month that it will be filling the vacant premises in the ‘heart of Tenby town’, after clothes fashion store FatFace which had put forward plans to open at the premises (replacing Joules which closed its doors back in February, after being situated at the premises since September 2017) pulled out.
Tenby councillors recommended approval for the signage proposals, which they stated is in keeping with, and will have no detrimental effect on, the streetscape and the property’s location within the Conservation Area.

Tenby Civic Society also welcomed the plans, stating: ‘The proposal retains the existing shop front with repairs ‘as is’ and a new sign that fits well in colour and size etc with the existing shop front.’
Both organisations’ recommendations will go to the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park Authority who will determine the application.
