Pembroke Dock's skate park is being put to good use by the children and young people of the town, as this recent visit by Friends of the Memorial Park so clearly shows.
Chair of the Memorial Park Group, Clr. Sue Perkins said: "The skate park in Pembroke Dock is finished and looking good, but the best news of all is that local children and young people are enjoying it.
"The chance to skateboard safely in our town has long been a dream for our young people who raised money to help the cause.
"I would like to thank Pembroke Dock Town Council for supporting our cause from the very start with annual funding and Communities First for helping us secure funding from a variety of sources.
"The build of the skate park would not have been possible without grants received from Pembrokeshire County Council, Sports Wales, Big Lottery Fund, Community Foundation in Wales, Milford Haven Port Authority, Dragon LNG, npower, Pembroke Power Station and Dyfed Powys Police.
"Most of all, I would like to thank members of the Memorial Park Group who have shared my vision for our town park as a place where everyone can walk, play and take part in activities, or just enjoy the peace and quiet of this unique environment.
"Our town park is becoming a place for families again. We have more plans which include more seating and more play equipment. I know that with the energy and commitment of the Memorial Park Group and our supporters we will continue to polish up this jewel in the crown of Pembroke Dock."
