The annual general meeting of the Senior Citizens was held at the Queen's Hall last week. The secretary, Mrs. Mary Lewis, read out her report from the previous annual general meeting.
The coffee mornings continue to be as enjoyable as ever. Many people give up their time to volunteer to make the coffee. Grateful thanks go to the British Legion, Narberth Women's Institutes, the ladies from Kings Court, many individuals who help on a regular basis, two gentlemen and honorary waiter, Mr. N. Hurst; as well as Mrs. Jackie Driver, who organises the monthly rota and newspaper report. Mrs. Mary Jackson, treasurer, presented the accounts for the year ending March 31. These were perused and accepted by all present.
The Christmas lunch had been well attended and the meal very good. The Mayor drew the raffle prizes and there was Irish Dancing, Joy bell and hand bell ringers.
Mrs. Mary Lewis gave Easter eggs for the coffee morning and Welsh cakes for St. David's Day were given by Mrs. Doris Feetham. Sadly, their president, Miss Bridget Lee Davies, had died in April. It was agreed to send a donation to her favourite charity.
The first trip of the year was to Milford and district and a meal, finishing at Caffe Becca; Aberglasney in May and hopefully for June it was suggested a picnic and a tour of the Elan Valley. The officers were elected to serve a further term.
