With the Queen’s Hall gearing up to re-open, the Narberth live entertainments venue has introduced new anti-spiking devices aimed at keeping drinkers safe.

The venue has invested in anti-spiking lids from StopTopps

“They’re a fantastic product which completely seals your glass, or you can poke a straw through, and will be available at all events,” said a spokesperson for the Queen’s Hall.

“Please just request from the bar, box office, staff or security - please don’t hesitate to ask, we want you all to feel safe at The Hall!”

The venue also issued a reminder about the ‘Ask for Angela’ scheme, which encourages people on a first date or who have met someone for the first time and who feel unsafe to get help from bar or security staff, simply by asking to speak to ‘Angela’.

“If you feel in danger or uncomfortable around your date, partner or anyone else in the venue, approach a Queen’s Hall representative and ask to speak to ‘Angela’ - we will discreetly remove you from the situation and call you a taxi home, a family member or the police.

“We won’t let you leave on your own and we will keep you away from the perpetrator,” they explained.

“Finally, if you think there is more we can be doing to keep our audiences safe - please let us know, we want to hear from you!”
