Calling all wild children for exciting family challenges at Colby Woodland Garden, near Amroth, this holiday.

Every Thursday throughout the summer as part of the National Trust's 'Wild Child' campaign there will be a chance to discover more about Colby's hidden wildlife, starting at 11 am on July 23 with an opportunity to get up close and personal with moths and butterflies when expert Jon Baker will be on hand to identify species from the overnight moth traps, as well as leading a family expedition to check out the varieties of butterflies which inhabit the meadow.

Interested families are welcome to join Jon Baker as he sets up the moth traps on the evening of Wednesday, July 22 - meet event co-ordinator Elizabeth Sleight, outside the Colby shop at 8.30 pm if you'd like to be involved. This event is part of the nationwide Moths Count scheme organised by Butterfly Conservation.

Whatever the weather, there will be crafts, activities, trails and quizzes every Thursday, from July 23 to August 27, from 11 am until 3 pm, so why not join in the fun for just £1 per child, plus the normal admission charge (National Trust members and children under five admitted free). Tel. 01834 811885 for more information. Collect your free Wild Child Pack, when you take part, and complete as many Wild Child challenges as you dare!
