Pembrokeshire County Council has a new head of public protection.
Mark Elliott started work at County Hall this week.
The 49-year-old was formerly assistant chief executive in charge of organisational development at Ceredigion County Council.
"I'm really excited I have been given this opportunity to work with Pembrokeshire County Council," he said.
"I'm looking forward to developing the public protection service for residents of the county."
Mark, who lives in Aberaeron and is married with three children, was born and brought up in Cardiff and qualified as an environmental health practitioner with the former Cardiff City Council.
He moved to Ceredigion in 1985 and took on various positions within its environmental health service before moving into the chief executive's department in 1996.
