An application for funding for pavement improvements and road safety measures in Begelly has been unsuccessful.
In a report to members of Kilgetty and Begelly Community Council this month, County Councillor for the ward Cllr Alistair Cameron said that unfortunately he had learnt that Pembrokeshire County Council’s application for funding for such safety improvements for the village through the Welsh Government’s ‘Road Safety Scheme’ had been unsuccessful for 2024-5.
“I have arranged a meeting with the council’s traffic engineers to find a way forward such as through seeking other funding opportunities,” he stated.
“There is a clear need to make the pavements better and safer in Begelly and for other road safety measures such as at the junction with Broom Lane.”
