Abstract artist Anya Ward will be exhibiting her third solo show ‘Tell Me About You and Me’ at Tenby Museum and Art Gallery this October.
Anya Ward is an abstract painter with a home studio in Pembrokeshire where she works and lives with her three young children.
“I am excited to share this collection of paintings with an audience,” she said.
“The collection as a whole has been 12 months in the making and it feels very satisfying to be embarking on the next phase of our journey”.
Anya works in acrylic and mixed media on both wood panel and canvas. Her paintings are intuitive and spontaneously created combining gestural and deliberate marks and composition.
As part of visitors' multi sensory experience Anya is including audio for some of the larger works, accessed through QR codes.
There is also an invitation for visitors to leave written comments about their experience of individual paintings or of the exhibition as a whole, which could be included in future work.
“I paint about the spiritual. My work is spontaneous and intuitive and often I am exploring personal struggles, connections and personal perspectives on Life. In this body of work I am looking to stimulate emotions between myself, the painting and the viewer.”
Anya exhibits in contemporary art galleries around Wales and the UK and has her work in private collections in the UK, Europe, US, Canada and Australia.
Her work is currently being shown in group exhibitions throughout Wales and ‘Sanctuary and The Hunt’ has just finished a UK national tour with Outside In, showing at Sotheby’s London. ‘Liminal State’ was selected as a finalist for Women In Art Prize, London.
Anya has been featured in Women United Art magazine and most recently selected to exhibit at the BEEP Painting biennial at Elysium Gallery, Swansea.
‘Tell Me About You and Me’ runs from October 5 until 19th November 19 with a preview on Saturday, October 5, between 5 and 7pm.
There will be an opportunity to meet with the artist at The Gallery during the run.
