Pembrokeshire’s young book lovers are encouraged to dive into the 2024 Summer Reading Challenge and unleash their imaginations with the ‘Marvellous Makers’.

The Challenge, presented by The Reading Agency and delivered in partnership with Pembrokeshire Libraries, encourages children aged 4-11 to read for fun over the summer holidays.

The Marvellous Makers characters, designed by celebrated illustrator Natelle Quek, will all be making something amazing and aims to fire up children’s imaginations and unleash storytelling and creativity through the power of reading.

Sign your child up at your local library, set a reading goal for the summer and borrow and read books, eBooks and audiobooks.

Receive a challenge poster and collect special stickers and rewards for reading.

If you are not a member of the library, you will need to bring ID that includes your address.

You can also join the challenge online at www.summerreadingchallenge.org.uk/ where you can set a reading goal and get book recommendations and tips and unlock digital badges and online rewards, including a printable certificate.

For those looking to get creative with their child/children during the summer holidays, contact your local library about the FREE craft and story sessions for children aged 4-11.
