With many Council staff seemingly still on holidays over the festive period, the Local Authority has been criticised for not keeping on top of public bin collections over Christmas.

Many people on social media have highlighted hotspots in towns across Pembrokeshire (which welcomes an influx of visitors over the festive holiday period and New Year) where collections don’t seem to have taken place over the last week.

None more so then this image, posted in a community Facebook group, with the person who captured the pic at Withybush Retail Park in Haverfordwest, stating: “ALL bins overflowing, makes me ashamed to say that I live in Pembrokeshire.”

Another person commenting, remarked: “Was like it Saturday to so doesn't look like its been done since then.

“The refuse collectors for it have been on holiday since Christmas Eve,” commented another...with someone else adding: “This is what you pay your council tax for!”

Others were quick to point out that the retail park is privately owned by Realty Income Corporation, and therefore not the responsibility of PCC.
