EASTER was a busy time for members of South Pembrokeshire and Cresselly Hunt Pony Club, who hosted a fantastic Easter Bingo evening at Begelly Arms, raising over £1,200 to help towards running costs, equipment and event subsidies.
All proceeds of the raffle on the evening going to committee member and pony club mum Sarah Arthur, who is running the London Marathon this month, raising money for the Hope MS Centre, Neyland. Sarah’s dad and grandad to member Magi has suffered with MS for nearly 20 years, causing a tremendous deterioration in both physical and mental health; the MS centre has been a wonderful support to him. The raffle raised an amazing £426. The club is grateful to all who supported and donated prizes to make this such a success.
On Saturday, March 30, members took part in an Easter egg trail ride by very kind permission of Mr H Harrison-Allen. 25 members on their horses and ponies, accompanied by non-riding members and supporters on foot, rode left the yard of Cresselly House and back through the Millwood where the Easter Bunny had left some treats! The Club also ran an Easter art competition and was delighted with the turnout of decorated hats and Easter egg designs. Entries were of a very high standard and presented a tough task for the judge Hugh Harrison-Allen to pick his winners.
Many club members enjoyed a day out at The Cresselly Hunt Point to Point on Easter Monday, and returned the following day for a litter pick.
An equine table top sale was held on Saturday, April 6 at Cresselly YFC Hall, and on Sunday branch teams took part in the Area 18 Horse and Pony Care Competition hosted by Pembrokeshire Hunt Pony Club.
The Pony Club is a voluntary run equestrian youth organisation providing fun, friendship, horsemanship and sport for under 25s.
The summer diary of events will be released soon to include the Branch Camp during Whitsun, if you are interested to know more about the Pony Club, contact the DC, Catherine Nicholas on 07456 229992.
