An estimated 10-mile walk from Pembroke Dock to Carew and back turned out to be 15.6 miles for Peter Kraus in his effort to support veterans.
Peter fulfilled the challenge last Saturday, March 30 for Combat Stress, a charity for veterans who are suffering from mental health issues and those who have PTSD. “To help them by going that extra distance was nothing compared to what the veterans did to keep us all safe,” he said.
Peter’s walk started at 11am from outside the Shipwright Restaurant, Front Street, Pembroke Dock where he was met by Stuart Harries in his Military Police Land Rover.
He then walked to Carew Castle and back, stopping off at Martha’s Kitchen at Cosheston Garden Centre and Carew Castle’s Nest Tea Rooms.
“Altogether I did 31,523 steps and burnt 1217 Calories but it was well worth the effort,” Peter added. “I am hoping that by doing this challenge I can raise £1,000 by this Sunday, April 7, when I can hand over a cheque to Combat Stress. Then they can help all the fantastic veterans who are suffering.”
