The reopening of the tunnel connecting Coppet Hall to Wiseman’s Bridge provided a welcome boost to businesses, locals and visitors midway through the summer season, a local county councillor has stated - after the route had been closed for several months, due to landslides.
“I have had so many positive comments regarding the coastal path opening and also the new path to the train station,” said county councillor for Saundersfoot’s south ward Chris Williams.
“The Strand through Coppet Hall to Wisemans Bridge recently has been a constant flow of walkers, disabled scooters, young families and dog walkers all enjoying the reopening of the path.
“The feedback from the residents has been excellent and I have had a coffee with the owner of the Wisemans Bridge Inn, who stated that the path has put a smile on people’s faces and its fantastic for the community to have this open again, with businesses both sides of this path benefiting.
“Whist driving and passing the new path on Fan Road, it’s great to see so many people now using this. I have seen joggers, young families with children on small bikes and many more individuals walking safely to and from the village,” he added.
