Solutions continue to be sought for various parking problems in Saundersfoot.

County councillor for the seaside village’s south ward Chris Williams has stated that he recently had two onsite meetings with the access group at Pembrokeshire County Council and the Street Care team.

“On both occasions we walked around the village to look at dropped kerbs, parking and loading bays in the village,” he remarked.

“I have had numerous conversations with residents and businesses regarding parking on the pavement, blocking dropped kerb access and delivery vehicles parking in the bus lane on Milford Street.

“Unfortunately there isn’t a provision for a loading bay on Milford Street but there is the potential to investigate this further.

“I have a meeting later in September with the Highways engineers to look at a solution of possibly having a shared loading bay/taxi bay. This would be timed for early deliveries and help prevent the parking on the pavement.

“There would need to be a detailed debate with all parties, as we look for solutions to the current issues,” continued Cllr Williams, who said that he would also be raising the matter of parking issues for many residents, to try to protect their access to and from their properties.
