Carmarthenshire County Council’s Environment Enforcement team issued a total of £2,550 in fines during December for litter, fly-tipping and other environmental offences - including a FPN issued to a Narberth resident for depositing a refuse bag of household waste on the A40, St Clears.

The following £400 fixed penalty notices (FPNS) were issued for fly-tipping:

• To a Llandybie resident for depositing seven refuse bags of household waste at Burry Port recycling facility.

• To a St Clears resident for depositing two refuse bags of household waste off the A40, St Clears.

There were also several £125 fixed penalty notices issued for litter offences:

• FPN issued to a Carmarthen resident for depositing a refuse bag of household waste at Morrisons recycling facility, Carmarthen.

• FPN issued to a Narberth resident for depositing a refuse bag of household waste on the A40, St Clears.

• FPN issued to a resident for depositing a refuse bag of household waste at Tesco recycling facility, Carmarthen.

• FPN issued to a resident for depositing a cigarette end on the ground at Heol Y Bwlch, Bynea.

• FPN issued to a Burry Port resident for depositing a blue recycling bag at Seaview Terrace recycling facility, Burry Port.

• FPN issued to a Carmarthen resident for depositing a black refuse bag of household waste at Morrisons recycling facility, Carmarthen.

• FPN issued to a Llanllawddog resident for depositing a blue recycling bag of household waste at Tesco recycling facility, Carmarthen.

• FPN issued to Kidwelly resident for depositing a blue recycling bag of household waste at Co-op recycling facility, Kidwelly.

• FPN issued to a Carmarthen resident for depositing a black refuse bag of household waste at Morrisons recycling facility, Carmarthen.

• FPN issued to a Carmarthen resident for depositing a takeaway drinks cup at Pensarn, Carmarthen.

A £300 FPN was also issued when a Carmarthenshire resident failed in their householder duty of care when his waste was found fly tipped near Llandeilo.

A £100 FPN was issued to a Carmarthen resident for failing to comply with a section 46 of the Environmental Protection Act 1990 waste receptacle notice.

A £100 FPN was issued to a Llanelli resident for breaching a Public Space Protection Order (PSPO) for entering the enclosed children’s play area with a dog at North Dock, Llanelli despite dogs being banned from the play area.

17 Notices were also issued to residents within the county for failing to comply with Carmarthenshire County Council’s waste collection scheme under section 46 of the Environmental Protection Act 1990.

Cllr Aled Vaughan Owen, cabinet member for Cabinet Member for Climate Change, Decarbonisation and Sustainability said: “The Council’s Environment Enforcement team continues to work effectively throughout Carmarthenshire, which is evident in the number of fixed penalty notices issued during December.

“I hope this serves as a reminder that littering, fly-tipping, breaching PSPO’s and other environmental offences will not be tolerated in Carmarthenshire.”
