Tenby and District Camera Club had a very successful day trip recently, by coach to Bath, with members and guests having a most enjoyable day in the sunshine.

Bath proved a very photogenic area and the club members look forward to viewing the resultant photographs and images in future meetings.

Through the summer they have participated in a number of inter-club competitions. Although on each occasion they started strongly with good marks, they failed to maintain the lead by the end of the day. As holders of the Sospan Trophy, they could not hold off a strong second half from Llanelli, who took the trophy home with them.

Meeting every fortnight through the summer, the club has held a number of outdoor meetings in the immediate locality as members took advantage of the fine weather and late evening sun to produce some fine photographs.

The committee has produced a very wide ranging programme for the winter season - in particular a number of very good speakers have been invited and will cater for the experienced and novice alike. Also there will be opportunities for those taking their first steps in photography, be it film or digital, to obtain help and advice from experienced amateurs and professionals. There will be six club competitions on a variety of themes, through the winter.

Prints have been selected for the exhibition at Carew Methodist Church and the displays arranged for the exhibition which opened on August 1. The exhibition, which is being held in conjunction with local arts and crafts, will be open every Tuesday and Wednesday through August from 10.30 am to 4 pm.

In August, prints will be selected for display in the Tenby Arts Festival, due to be held in September at St. Johns Church.

The next meeting is at the Church Hall, St. Issell's Church, Saundersfoot, at 7.30 pm, on Thursday, August 10 - all are welcome.
